Welcome Rex Silver - VITAMAN National Business Development Manager

VITAMAN GLOBAL today announced the appointment of its new National Business Development Manager, Rex Silver. This symbolises an exciting new chapter that continues VITAMAN’S journey from the world’s elite men’s day spas to the Australian men’s grooming market.

Over the past 20+ years, VITAMAN has established itself as a worldwide leader in men’s natural skincare and grooming. This has seen the brand exclusively service luxury 5-Star hotels, men’s day spas, and salons in global chains like FOUR SEASONS, CONRAD, 1847, W, SOFITEL, Hilton, and WALDORF ASTORIA.

With an eye to the future, VITAMAN recognises the skills and services offered in today’s barber shops and men’s salons have risen exponentially. This is aligned with the ever-growing demands of today’s savvy male consumers.

With its luxury range of men’s natural grooming products, now represents the ideal time for the 100% Australian VITAMAN to officially enter the Australian professional grooming market.

Over the last few weeks, Rex has been hard at work completing VITAMAN’S product knowledge training and onboarding duties. This has seen him commence his role as National Business Development Manager on Wednesday 25th August.

Rex is now charged with introducing the VITAMAN range to the Australian professional men’s grooming industry. This specifically entails barber shops, men’s hairdressers, uni-sex salons specializing in men’s hair and grooming, and men’s beauticians and grooming treatment specialists.

In his 30+ year career in the Australian hairdressing industry, Rex has achieved a number of notable distinctions and awards. He is a 9-time recipient of the Westpac and News Limited Best in Business Award for his former barber businesses. This recognition even included a prestigious Individual Best Customer Service Award. Rex has also received seven finalist nominations in the Australian Hair Industry Awards, as well as two nominations for the Australian Best Barber of the Year. In addition, Rex has been a judge in many Australian and international hair and barbering competitions. Not only this but he has also been the editor of Barbershop Magazine and a member of the Mocha Group since 2019.

VITAMAN has also capitalised on Rex’s skills and experience by engaging him as an International Creative Brand Ambassador and Head of Hair Education. This is due, in part, to Rex’s men’s creative hair excellence and photography skills, which have seen his work published many times. Additionally, he is equally recognised for his creative qualities and his astute business acumen toward the men’s grooming industry.

The Australian professional men’s grooming industry is at a junction right now. With the reinstatement of barber qualifications over the last few years, a growing number of business owners are looking to execute higher levels of service and output. With a focus on upskilling, these business owners can offer their clients higher quality barber work, as well as advanced services that include skincare and grooming.

Consequently, these operators have unearthed a new world of in-store options for their customers. Plus, there is now a vast array of take-home, after-care retail options, which opens a greater opportunity to increase their income streams.

At a time when customers are demanding more from hairdressing technicians — such as expert knowledge on the many facets of men’s grooming —it is clear that business owners see upskilling as a vital component of their business.

Rex states that “to head up an already successful and established multinational company, and present its award-winning men’s grooming products to the Australian professional market is one thing, (but to) add the fact that the brand is Australian made, owned, and designed is a dream come true. The future is exciting indeed!”

VITAMAN’s Founder and Director Clare Castles said “Our team is extremely excited for Rex to lead VITAMAN into the hair and barbering industry in Australia. We are passionate in our belief that there is infinite potential for salons to become more profitable”
